Project: The situation of women with substance use disorders in mixed-gender facilities: Analysis of barriers to accessing treatment

Goals of the project:

Based on this study, a differential profile will be established for women with substance use issues in mixed-gender prisons (in comparison to women in female-only facilities). This profile will take into account all aspects related to gender differences found between men and women. To develop this profile, a sample of incarcerated women and men will be used. From the results of this study, a series of recommendations and proposals will be made to enhance the care provided to women with substance use issues in prison
